Kevin Joynes-Creed is a fully qualified Driving Standards Agency Fleet Registered Approved Driving Instructor (ADI). Kevin has completed and passed all three of the Driving Standards Agencies qualifying tests, this qualification is required by law to advertise or offer driving lessons for reward with either money or goods.
In addition to the qualifying process Kevin has also undergone a full Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check in order to gain entry to the DSA Register of Approved Driving Instructors. Members of the register should display their licence to instruct at all times when carrying out paid tuition.
In addition to completing the ADI qualification process Kevin is also fully committed to the DSA program of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
Below is a summary of Kevin's Professional Qualifications to date:
Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor (ADI):
In order to gain this qualification there are three qualifying tests
- Part 1 - 100 question theory test, pass mark required 85%
- Part 2 - Test of driving ability, 1 hr test including 4 manoeuvres, pass mark required six or less driver faults.
- Part 3 - Test of instructional ability, 1 hr test of instructional ability split into 2 sections,
- phase 1 an introduction lesson to a new driver and
- phase 2 an improvement lesson to a learner with more experience.
In addition to passing the 3 qualifying tests a full Criminal Records Bureau Check is required in order to gain entry to the register of Approved Driving Instructors.

EDI NVQ Level III in Driving Instruction:
To achieve a full award in Driving Instruction candidates are required to complete a total of 8 Mandatory and 2 Optional units which prove the candidates competence within the Driving Instruction Industry.
NVQ A1 Assessor:
The aim of this qualification is to ensure quality assurance within the assessment of NVQs and contribute to overall performance in all industries and occupations. The purpose is to enable potential assessors to assess candidates against agreed standards of competence using a range of assessment methods, give candidates feedback on assessment decisions and contribute to internal quality assurance processes.
Candidates must complete the mandatory unit as follows:
- Unit A1 Assess learners using a range of methods:
- Develop plans for assessing competence with learners
- Judge evidence against criteria to make assessment decisions
- Provide feedback and support to learners on assessment decisions
- Contribute to the internal quality assurance process
Level 4 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTTL's)
New qualifications for teachers in the Lifelong Learning Sector were introduced from September 2007. Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) is the minimum requirement for people who wish to teach in post-16 education. PTLLS is the first step to a full teacher qualification.

DIAmond Presentation Skills:
- Effective group Control and Interaction.
- Effective use of Visual Aids including projectors, white boards and flip charts.
- How to deliver an effective and informative presentation.
- How to run and effective Q&A session.
DIAmond Coaching and Assessment Skills:
- Commentary Driving, the ability to describe key observations and actions being completed whilst driving. Commentary can help to demonstrate correct driving practises during training sessions.
- Assessment of Driver Ability and Risk Assessment.
- Coaching Skills to help integrate improved driving techniques into day to day driving practises.
DIAmond Advanced Driving Test:
- The test consists of the following:
- Duration - 60 Min's
- Includes a period of motorway driving
- Completion of 4 reversing manoeuvres.
- Pass mark - No more than 6 Driver faults.
